Wie captures first title, then tweets about it

Michelle WieRemember Michelle Wie ? Proclaimed the "next" great thing in the world of sports in October 2005. The teenage sensation was supposed to take the world of golf by storm. Golf analysts proclaimed this young woman would not only conquer the LPGA tour but also the PGA tour .

Nike and Sony inked her to sizable endorsement deals with the expectation of greatness in the near future.

Unfortunately, for Wie, things didn't quite pan out as the golf world had expected. Over the next few years, her golfing career would be defined by injury, meltdowns and changes in management.

But this past weekend, Wie, now 20, might have changed the course of her career. On Sunday, Wie tapped in a short putt on the 18th green at the Lorena Ochoa Invitational in Guadalajara, Mexico, giving her the first LPGA Tour event title of her career.

Shortly after claiming victory, Wie tweeted:

"wowwwww..... never thought this would feel THIS great!!!!!"

"thanks"

"thanks to allll my fans, family, nike and omega, david, friends, people at img for everything!!!!"

"woooooOoooooooooohooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo"

"wow this is just sooo delicious.m"

"such a great weekend. first stanford football dominated and now this! wooowwwwwwww i love life"

After all of the hype that surrounded her, it's easy to forget sometimes that she is still a young woman. How many women can claim an LPGA title by the age of 20?

Congratulations Miss Wie on your first title in what hopes to be a successful journey that will fill your trophy case along the way.
